Caring for your Real Christmas TreesCare Guide
Caring for a real Christmas tree involves a few key steps to ensure it stays fresh and vibrant throughout the Christmas Period. Here’s a guide to help you keep your tree looking its best.
1. Picking Up Your Tree
All our trees come in a netting sock for travel safety.
Do not place your tree onto a hot Ute tray – bring a mat or towel to place under it.
2. Preparation Before Setup
Make a Fresh Cut and put it immediately in water: If the tree’s base has been out of water for more than a few hours, cut off about 2cm from the bottom of the trunk. This opens up the tree’s pores and helps it absorb water more effectively and place it IMMEDIATELY into water.
Keep It Cool: Store the tree in a cool, shaded area, in water, if you’re not setting it up immediately.
3. Setting Up The Tree
Use a Sturdy Stand (or purchase one here): Place the tree in a stand that holds water. Ensure the stand is large enough to support the tree and has a water reservoir.
Position Carefully: Set the tree away from large windows, or direct sunlight, as well as air-conditioning to prevent it from drying out quickly.
4. Watering
Daily Watering: Keep the stand filled with water at all times. A fresh tree can absorb a significant amount of water, especially in the first few days after being set up.
Monitor Water Levels: Check the water level daily, and refill as needed. The tree’s water reservoir should always be full.
5. Tree Care
Avoid Adding Chemicals: Do not add preservatives or chemicals to the water. Plain water is best for keeping the tree hydrated.
Keep it Cool: Minimize exposure to heat sources and avoid placing the tree near glass windows or direct sunlight.
